In the ‘60’s, France opened to Europe. ID’s collections were presented at the International Fair in Frankfurt, Germany. René and Mado Legrand discovered new houseware trends that were more “design” and fairly close to the Scandinavian style that inspired them. The firm I/D distributed some of these articles that were complementary to those they already produced. Examples are: basketry from Eastern Europe, glassware from Scandinavia, glazed pottery from Mexico, Japanese lacquer trays and boxes or raku bowls and teapots. Among these we find lampshades made of rice paper and inspired by the famous one created by Nogushi (1904-1988) which went on to become very successful.
