Quatre Saisons was inclined to edit, with slight transformations, objects and furniture originally meant for a professional use. This approach, adopted in the 1930’s by famous architects and designers was still something unusual and new for the mainstream in the 1960’s. At Quatre Saisons, jeweler’s wooden screw stool becomes an adjustable stool perfect for children at their desk. The hinged metal lamp that architects screw onto the edge of their drawing boards became one of the most popular adjustable lamps.  The floor decking used in the jeweler’s workshop became stools and benches. Industrial storage shelves turned into libraries or wall separations in big living spaces. The artisans’ sawhorse table became a desk at home.
